A Legacy Forged in Precision and Heart
There’s a hum of machines and the warm glow of welding arcs at Tech-Weld, Inc., tucked into an industrial corner of Sycamore, Illinois. It’s here that metal rolls, welds, and comes alive as precision tubes, tanks, cones, and custom parts that serve industries across the country. But Tech-Weld is more than steel and sparks. It’s a family story woven through three generations, community impact, and a commitment to craftsmanship that feels personal.
Tech-Weld Family History
The company’s roots go back to 1992 when Greg LeSage founded Tech-Weld based on skills and principles passed down for decades. Welding isn’t just a job in the LeSage household, it’s a legacy. Greg learned welding in his youth from his father, Ron LeSage, whose own career in fabrication dated back to the 1950s. Greg took that legacy and ran with it, building a business that today blends experience with cutting-edge capabilities.
But the family story doesn’t stop with Greg at the helm. Linda LeSage runs the day-to-day operations of Tech-Weld, keeping the gears turning, the schedule on track, and the company’s quality standards high. Her leadership ensures that every customer’s project gets the attention and reliability that define Tech-Weld’s work. Other family members like John, Jeff, and Christine LeSage bring their own talents in sales, marketing, and operations, making Tech-Weld a truly multi-generational endeavor.
Just as important as the family leadership is the team behind the work. Tech-Weld is honored to employ two veterans whose dedication, discipline, and service-minded approach continue to shape the culture of the company. Their presence is a reminder that craftsmanship and commitment often come from lives built on responsibility and sacrifice, and Tech-Weld is proud to have them as part of the extended family.
Crafting Capabilities That Matter
From early beginnings in South Elgin, Illinois, Tech-Weld has expanded in both space and capability. Their current Sycamore facility is about 34,000 square feet, nearly twice the size of earlier locations, allowing room for growth in both equipment and expertise.
The company’s manufacturing capabilities are broad and finely tuned. Tech-Weld specializes in:
• Manufacturer of Precision Welded Tubes, Tanks, Cones, and Weldments tailored to unique specifications.
• Tanks and pressure vessels built with exacting standards.
• Cone rolling and fabrication that maintains shape without edge deformation.
• A range of processes like laser cutting, planishing, seam welding, TIG and MIG welding, and more.
• Work with materials from aluminum and stainless steel to nickel and exotic alloys.
Their ability to produce tubing from 3 inches up to 36 inches in diameter, with lengths reaching up to 24 feet, showcases their flexibility to take on small and large projects alike.
Certifications like ISO 9001:2015, AS9100D, and Nadcap for welding reflect the company’s dedication to quality and consistency for industries where precision is critical.
Serving Industry and Community Alike
While Tech-Weld’s products travel far beyond Sycamore, the company’s presence in the local community is meaningful. As a local business, they:
• Employ skilled workers in the area, keeping craftsmanship alive and providing steady jobs.
• Support the local economy by sourcing services and materials, and by participating in community business networks.
• Bring visibility to Sycamore as a place where industry and innovation meet small-town values.
The company’s philosophy is simple yet powerful: treat every customer, supplier, and employee as part of the extended family. That attitude ripples outward, contributing to community pride while ensuring that the fabric of local business remains strong.
A Future Built on Family Values
At Tech-Weld, metal meets both tradition and innovation. With family leadership at every level and a workshop full of capability and care, they continue to grow while staying grounded in the values that sparked their first weld. From Sycamore’s industrial streets to projects spanning national industries, the LeSage family’s story is written in every seam.
